Anyone ever had a neuro give them a methylprednisolone stat pack? I've had preds before. Is this the same thing? if so why change to this and not just used preds again ?

Hey Magick,

When the PA first figured out I had CH a couple of months ago he gave me a 7 day course of Prednisone, and I didn't have a single attack while I was taking them. Then they came back, and I saw a Dr, and he gave me the taper pack of Methyl-Prednisolone, and I had headaches every day I was on it.

Just my experience, but the MP was nowhere near as effective as the Pred was for my headaches.

the 7 day course, taper pack of Methyl-Prednisolone helps me every time - but only while I'm on it. I'm just afraid of the side effects. To me though, it would be ideal for using while on vacation, etc.

I use those dose-packs also. They have never 'broken' a cycle. They do stop the attacks on the first day (60mg). The attacks stay away unti I get down to 30-20 mg and then they return. It does give a couple of nights sleep though.
