Title: access to future-drugs.com
Post by SuperQuack on Oct 29th, 2004, 9:49am
There have been several references and a link to a review article "Update on Therapies for Cluster Headache" from future-drugs.com. (The article downloads as a .pdf document)

Future-drugs.com has several articles that look like they may be useful (at least the titles look interesting)  However, they are only available to paid subscribers (corporate or acedemic)

Anyone know:
(1) how'd the"Update..." artical above become available to this meessage board?
(2) How can a lay person, like myself, get access to the other CH related articles on future-drugs.com?  I may be willing to pay for the access (depending on price) but I can't get through the "corporate or acedemic" gateway.

TIA
SQ

Vig,

Sorry, I didn't know the board netiquette was I needed to supply a biography before getting an reply (polite or otherwise) to a politely stated question.

"Who am I?" Well, exsistentially that's something we all want to know. In the Southern USA, where I live, Ladies ask, Who's your Mama?" The men ask, "What'cha do for a living?'
My Mama's Elizabeth from Gadsden County. I ustabe a Naval Officer (I retired in 1984)

But maybe more to answer your rudely asked question:
I recently entered my first bout of cluster headaches. (read the typical symptoms and I got'em all.)  I'm 7 weeks into a bout. CH every day at 11:00 +- 30min. And one or two random CH's at other times of day/night. Lasting 45 minutes to 4 hours.  Up to Kip 7-8. I'm on a tapered dose of triamcinolone, Verapamiil 120 t.i.d. Melantonin 9 mg h.s. Mg, Ca++, B2, and 4% Lidocaine per nose.

One of the effects of my CH is I get VERY grumpy. And don't suffer fools gladly.  What else do you need to know?
OBTW: can you answer either of my questions?

Looks to me like if only "paid subscribers" are allowed to access the information, then you'll have to subscribe ... or hack your way in !!  LMAO

Let's see, let's see now... one's polite, one's rude.   But who is who?

I KNOW  I KNOW......

So, the question was, who are you?  Ok, well but Grumpy could be anyone impolite, so I'm still not sure how to distinguish your impoliteness, but you can be Sneezy.  You'll have to earn Dopey.  But, before you ask, no you can't, Happy is taken.

YOU put the negative intonation in my question.
No rudeness was ever intended.  I merely wanted to know who you were.

Dude,
In my so improper lingo!!! Suffering alone is not a good thing. Keep talking the talk and thats where you'll  end up around here, if you get what I mean. CH doesn't really care who you are but we do cause we are a family to each other. People want to help if you just happen to read ANY of the post around here.  [smiley=smartass.gif]

Yo!  SQ!

I'm pretty new here myself.  It's always been my practice to ease into a new forum gently.  Lurk a bit and get a feel for the culture.  Introduce myself and say howdy to the folks.  Be friendly, whether I feel like it or not.  If I'm an not a very nice person, mask it.

We're all in the same boat here.  Your particular membership in the ch club won't buy you any special priviliges.

Hi SuperQuack ... Dopey ... Grumpy ... Whoever you are,

Take no offense here, please.  We're all a little leary when an unknown comes in without offering a history and a "hello."

The link you talk about has been around for quite awhile.  Like you, I couldn't access other articles on the site.  I only know that I benefitted greatly from the article in question - my doc loves it too.

I think I first got it from Gator, but can't be sure.  You might try doing a search here for all references to that link to see who first posted it.

If that doesn't work and you're able to hack the site, please share your results.  We'll all be nicer next time ... right, guys?

Kris
