Title: Do you think this will help? Post by nani on Oct 11th, 2004, 2:29am I saw a new neuro last week. Nice guy (reminded me of Mr Rogers) and he knows about clusters. He wants me off ALL triptans (due to a burst brain aneurysm in the past) Prescribed O2 to abort and lithium, verapamil and Neurontin for prevents. I'm on 1800 mgs of Neurontin (been using it for awhile) 120mg Verapamil and 150mgs lithium. Just started the lithium tonight. I can't sleep! :(Went to bed about 2 hours ago no luck... Is this a side effect? (Dr said to take it at night cuz it would make me sleepy - ha!) Also do you think it will work? I'm a chronic with k3-6 several times a day. |

Title: Re: Do you think this will help? Post by clarence on Oct 11th, 2004, 6:39am Sounds like a pretty good cocktail. I personally like the neurontin. People say a higher dose of the verapamil is usually needed, but I don't know with the neurontin. Haven't tried lithium myself. Now that I think of it, I'm not really any help at all in this thread. For what its worth, I don't know if it will work for you, but I pray that it does. Hope you get some sleep, Casey |

Title: Re: Do you think this will help? Post by alleyoop on Oct 11th, 2004, 7:11am I'm with Casey. Sounds like a pretty good cocktail. You will probably end up adjusting it some before you get it just right though. My script used to call for 900mg lithium and 720mg verapamil. I had some trouble with sleep too. My neuro gave me ambien to take care of that and it worked pretty good. For me, the verap was the one that really did the trick on my CH, especially at 480mg and higher. Good luck and I hope it works for you. .......................alley ;) |

Title: Re: Do you think this will help? Post by don on Oct 11th, 2004, 10:09am I'm thinking that combo would work for a lot of people. Hope your one of them. Might take a few dosage adjustments first. |
