Title: Where do you find the best Nero? Post by hoosierdaddy on Oct 2nd, 2004, 11:52am I am fairly new at this but I have recieved outstanding help and support from you all. I have been refered to a Nero and I wan't to make sure that I see someone who will be able to help. I found a website once that ranked doctors by specialty but I can't find it now, and I don't think the ranking will mean that he/she will be the best for CH. Is there a list by state/region or does anyone know who's top ranked for CH in the Indiana area? |

Title: Re: Where do you find the best Nero? Post by Mr. Happy on Oct 2nd, 2004, 6:23pm You'll never know if a neuro is any good until AFTER you've been in to see him/her/it. And if they suck, it's usually a months long process to start all over again, with no promise that it won't be repeated. Don't know if my neuro is any good. He listens very well. Told him I wanted verap, trex snorts, and canned air......and he started writing. It's 2 years later, and I haven't been back to see him since. Called his office earlier this week, spoke to his nurse, and picked up my bag of CH treats 2 hours later. Reckon I'd have to rate that as Excellent......but then again, I'm not a problem CHer.......I respond to everything well and fast. All you can do is go in armed with as much as knowledge as possible and present your case. Good luck, RJ |

Title: Re: Where do you find the best Nero? Post by Kris_in_SJ on Oct 2nd, 2004, 8:01pm Ditto to BobG - They have a pretty good listing. Lacking that, I would recommend a teaching hospital in a big city, like Indy. It's probably your best bet for docs who are up on the latest. Most of all, look for someone who will LISTEN to you and work with you. Best of luck and many hugs, Kris |

Title: Re: Where do you find the best Nero? Post by toolong on Oct 6th, 2004, 9:58am I live in Indianapolis, and looking at the clusterheads site posted by BobG it recomends a Dr.Robert Alanzo.I've seen him twice. The total time spent with him, after having the usual blood pressure and weight check by his nurse, was 7 min.and 9 min.My copay was $90.00,and he billed my insurance $524.00!He prescribed Litihum, first visit, and indocin second visit.I've tried all this crap many times in the past with no positive results.Stoned me me out and left me with ED(lithium),and burned a hole in my stomach(indocin).I have yet to find a Dr. to help find relief.Without rambling on,my point is you have to keep searching to find the right Dr.Good luck! And let me know how it goes.David [smiley=huh.gif] |

Title: Re: Where do you find the best Nero? Post by JeffB on Oct 6th, 2004, 4:27pm I hope for your sake there is no Kaiser Permente out there. Here in California they are big. Unfortunately they hire Voodoo Dr's from Haiti I think, anyway, It took me months of agony before a Dr finally got tired of me bitchin about my CH's and sent me to what he claims is a nero. Verapamil, and prednizone along with Indocine was given along with some trex, that seemed to help....If you do find one ask if there's anybody in cali! |
