Title: Re: so tired of being chronlc Post by ferbio36 on Sep 13th, 2004, 1:08pm I have had them for 20 years.Hang in there bro.I have tried every med under the sun.The best way that I deal with them is to take percocet before they start.I went to a holistic neurologist, and she told me to try something called pain gel. It's basically a benzocaine mixed with camphor. If you have noticed, the pain is also focused in the nasal canal besides the eye.You take pain gel on a cotton swab, and swab it up the nostril as far as you can get it without hurting yourself. It numbs the nerve pain in the nose and gives pretty good relief. If you can't afford pain gel($70.00),just use anbesol(the toothache gel).It works just as well. These two things together give pretty good relief.Hope this helps. It sounds like fringe treatment, but if it works, what the hell right.?Take care. |

Title: Re: so tired of being chronlc Post by miapet on Sep 13th, 2004, 11:35pm Eddie, D was chronic for 20 years. The good days meant only one or two h/as . . the bad days meant one right after the other, every hour, for about 40 minutes each. He too had tried everything (except DHE and surgery). The alternative treatment is the only thing that worked for him. On Wednesday, we will be marking our 18th week p/f. We highly encourage the alternative, with o2 to abort as you get off the pharmacy, and to use in conjunction with the alternative. We have not used o2 since early May . . .it has been a life changing event. *positive light and energy* miapet |

Title: Re: so tired of being chronlc Post by Karla on Sep 15th, 2004, 5:59pm I was chronic for the last 6 years and have been pain free now for the last 5 months. Looks like Ive turned eposodic. Have you tried lithium, or topamax or Neurontin or verapamil and lithium together or DHE, etc.? There are many more meds you could try then what you listed. Maybe you just didn't feel like typing them all. Been there done that. Anyway If you haven't tried any other meds let us know and we can list off some more for you but the ones I listed are the main ones that I am aware of. |
