Title: hypothalamus, what's it good for?
Post by manana on Sep 3rd, 2004, 4:13pm
OK, so Doc Goadsby says that our problem is a deformed or enlarged one. What the heck is this thing & what does it do for us? I just visited my neuro & the half dozen pics of the brain on his wall didn't even identify it. Is this one case where size does matter & the bigger it is the worse the effects are? What say you?

LOL Terry...a normal pic isn't going to show it.  The hypothalamus lies deep within the brain...

More later on what it does, but it basically regulates our circaidian rhythms (body clock) and a bunch of other stuff!!!  We need it :)

I'll write more when I have more time!

Liz

You don't really need it... You should just have it removed. ;)

Lizzie & Mark, thanks for the links. I found them very informative. Superpain, I'm no brain surgeon but, I think I'll keep my hypothalamus, for the time being anyway.
