No.  Imitrex pills take too damn long to work.  I have some and will use them if I don't have any other form of Imitrex.  I usually break them in half.  If I'm only getting one HA a night it's kind of pointless since it won't work fast enough.  However, if I'm getting multiple hits per day, sometimes it will keep the subsequent ones at bay.

Hopes for PF times for you.

If you are going to take pills, zomig and axert begin working a whole  hell of a lot quicker than the 'trex pills.

If the tabs are taken early enough, they do work. Even if they are taken once the CH becomes full blown, an hour of pain is better than 3 hours.

Eddie,

If you use imitrex, the injections are generally the best way to go.  Used to work on me in less than 5 minutes. The stat dose injection just barely goes underneath your skin (tiny needle) and does not hurt (me anyway).  It is automatic with the injector pen........just push a button and all done for you.

Have your doctor give you a sample along with the stat dose injector.

Good luck,

John

Imitrex pills are all I have.  Takes 40-60 minutes to kick in.  Its nice to have oxygen available to reduce the pain till the trex works.  I once tried the Imitrex nasal spray, but it did not work any faster, and the drippy stuff going down the back of my mouth was pretty nasty tasting.
