Title: O2-what is a bubbler?
Post by lionsound on Aug 30th, 2004, 12:32pm
What is a bubbler?
I saw a pix of one on Jonny's "armed for battle thread"

Do I need one and why?

Wouldn't want to go into battle without the proper accoutrements.

Thanks,

A bubbler is part of the Oxygen apparatus.
It's a clear plastic piece that goes between the tank and YOU!
oh, ask Jonny, he can describe it better

Whether you need a bubbler or not depends on whether breathing the pure o2 is uncomfortable for you. Some folks get dried out breathing pure o2 and the bubbler helps negate that effect.

If you are not having trouble breathing the o2 now, don't bother with a bubbler is my advice.

Thank you very much, gentlemen!

I'm not having trouble with it now, but it might be something I'll need in the winter. It gets very dry here.

It humidifies the O2. Like an "air bong"...

Got it. (never used a bong before....I was a good n' geeky girl...let you now if I need a lesson..LOL)

And thanks for the link. very helpful.

I  need to order another few masks too. I lost one of the circular flapper thingies that covers the holes on the outside of mine. Made a temporary substitute out of a piece of balloon.
