Okay yesterday I woke up not being able to focus my eyes on things. I would look at something and it would take an extra second to click into focus. Kind of like looking at somethng through the lens of a camera and then turning the lens to focus it.

The night before I had tried o2 for the first time taken Relpax(at 10pm) for only the second time. And I have recently increased my verap from 180 to 240mg as well as increasing my keppra and decreasing my gabitril.

Called the doc on call from the HA place and he told me not to take another thing until I was given the "all clear" about my head. No triptans and nothing else either. I was stuck.

Now before you all cry migraine at me, I get migraines and I NEVER have had this symptom before with ANYTHING.

SO it was off to the ER with me after my son cried because I couldn't go play mini-golf with him as promised (I HATE THIS!), and after the stereo fell off the fridge and after I paced a hole in the floor and cried b/c I didn't know what to do.

At the ER I lucked out and got an attending who is doing research on triptans so was really interested in me. The CT Scan showed what? ......nothing, you guessed it. And even this doc had never seen this reaction in anyone before or heard of it either. I got the all clear...sort of. Have to call my doc again today and no triptans until I'm given permission to do so. I'm hoping that will be today, but I'm afraid not likely until this plays out a little longer. SO far I've escaped tremendous pain....I 'm not going to question that gift.

Maybe it was the changing med combo or the verap increase or the med timing?

So now I'm differing to to the collective experts of clusterville...any ideas?

Hi rori,

Sorry to hear that your having a rotten day..

I get that vision thing sometimes, but it's accompanied by lightheadedness. My GP attributed it to the verap causing a sudden loss in BP, like when you stand up too fast. So maybe the verap increase is what's going on.

It sounds like you're starting on some new meds and experiencing side affects. (yeah, i know i'm pointing out the obvious but i'm not trying to be a smart ass) I have no ideas or experience with the keepra or relpax.

I would press the doc on this one to get the "all clear" but then I would not wish to go without my abortive at all - just in case.

I found what you said to be interesting. See when I begun my final stand with CH at the beginning of last spring, one of the first things I did was to go to a vision doctor. All my life I had perfect vision up until this year. Everything started getting fuzzier and out of focus. (I also thought this was the source of my headaches!) The only thing the doctor could say was that my nerves around my eye were closer than most normal people and said that I had symptoms of photophobia, and put me in glasses.
To make a long story short, I only really have the vision problem when the shadows are out and about/and or I am under attack.
I also differ from most others on the website due to me suffering from migraines and CH. So it becomes one jumbled mess when I am under attack.
