Are there any contraindications with using these two? Do you have to wait a period of time between using one then the other.

AND AGAIN DO NOT USE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF EACH OTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks so much for the reply. I guess I'm try to figure out an ER strategy if the best breaks through the Imitrex.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

O2 if it works for you and steriods such as a Solu Medrol or Decadron IV or IM injection, a shot of Droperidol & Benedryl, + a script for a steriod taper such as a Medrol Dose Pak, Dex Pack, or a Prednisone taper.
If in pain at the ER ... narcotics :-/ (Morphine, Demerol, or Stadol)

Good many folks are reporting, here, using more Imitrex, within 24-hours, than is recommended. (NOT doubling the dose but more single doses within 24-hrs.)

The unresolved question is, whether this is safe or not. I've seen a couple of medical reports saying, in effect, no apparent side effects but not something to be done routinely. IT APPEARS--no final truth--that you could do this to treat one attack--although I would no do so IF you have any heart related medical conditions, history of stroke, etc.
