ok, I went and read your guestbook post. It does not appear you are trying to sell any specific product, near as I can tell, so I am going to try to cut you a little slack.

You need to be aware that anyone coming to this board and posting "Cure" in the subject line is going to be attacked because this is usually the sign of a snake oil vendor. You still might possibly be one, but I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt right now.

The main problem I see with your theory as you've posted it is that research had proven clusters to be caused by a malfuntioning or malformed hypothalumus with is deep in the brain. I fail to see any possible connection to the stomach.

Research and anecdotal evidence also indicates there is very little connection between food and/or lifestyle and clusters. The only commonly acknowledged connection is between alcohol and clusters, and even then it is only during a cycle, and for some people, no connection there either.

Whatever it is that is working for you right now, I'm glad it is and that you are pain-free. I do seriously doubt your theory and think it is more likely that your cycle ended coincidentally. But if it works for you, great. However, if your next post is going to recommend a product to try, be prepared for a rightous flaming.

If not, welcome to clusterville. Please be cautious about claiming any cure, though.

Any body know why they used to give antibiotics to chickens in very small, constant doses?? Not to prevent infection, but to promote growth - the things we pigeon-hole as "antibiotics" also can act as hormones. Antibiotics can also act as anti-inflammitories. Know any body here that has taken a hormone (like prednisone) or an anti-inflammitory (like indomethacin) for clusters or paroxysmal hemicrania?

i just get frustated sometimes i see everything from
cat poo too a bunch of antibiotics and othes stuff
im so sorry i feel i was wrong here latly i seem
to get no relief what so ever some say sh work
some say forget that but the fact is i have a big heart
my heart goes to those who suffer as i do my head
seems to never let up the throbbing the earaches
all is just so overwelming me again IM SO SORRY
my daughter is own her way from germany to
afganistsan and somebody to say there is a cure
these meds cost to much to just go from one
to another i have so many med bottles here
im so tired of taking things that dont do anything

Hey Eddie

We DO know how you feel, honestly. That's why these people peddling cures get blasted to eternity here and I realised you were only doing the same.
We are all desperate to find some relief from the pain and even a cure, but the bastards who prey on our desperation deserve everything they get.

I know drugs are very expensive over there, have you tried oxygen yet? It could be a good alternative for you?
Someone in your country can advise how to go about it as the system is different here, but if you haven't given it a go, it does work for about 80% of us, and you can use it as many times a day as you need to

Um, this is Shani & I don't usually say much except to ask about certain meds and treatmenst while going through my cycles but when I say cure I was very curious. I mean who out of all of us wouldn't be. We all suffer terribly from the beast that visits us or our loved ones on a constant basis and we are always in horrific pain with no end in sight.

Here's my valid question...ARE YOU INSANE??? My neurologist is someone who used to suffer from cluster's himself, for a twenty year cycle in fact. That makes him a doctor, a well known doctor actually. One that other doctors turn to for advice, across the country.

Sure, we all suffer from ulcers. That's because we take so many damn medications so are stomachs are screwed up and turned upside and twisted in notes. Some of us drink really strong coffee because the high amount of caffine helps to keep the beast at bay for a few more hours.

You should really do your research to understand why you get C/H's during the season's. Read the article's that show our bodies clocks are off and related to changes that go on with the seasons. That's why so many of us and in fact most of us are diagnosed as chronic sinus sufferer's instead of C/H's sufferer's. We've all gone through the diet change, the mattress change, trying every medication out there & NOTHING works.

I'd say more than anything, you're in a 3 year remission. Don't be surprised if the beast comes blowing your house down. I hope you didn't expect one positive reaction from of us. We don't believe in snake oils. They don't exist.

If you have a good read around here, there are many things which can alleviate your husband's pain, but our condition as yet has no cure.

Also , it may not be a good idea posting your email address as publicly as this as it will be picked up by people who are nothing to do with this board.

I don't think its a cure any more than Prednisone, but I enjoyed two pain-free weeks on Bactrim, an antibiotic, when I visited Guatemala last summer.

I took Bactrim to prevent stomach bugs, but I think it may have helped my head as well. As soon as I got home and discontinued the Bactrim, the headaches flared up again.

I'd be interested in references about how antibiotics behave as antiinflammatories.
