Title: Clomid is helping Post by UN_SOLVED on Aug 10th, 2004, 11:39pm For those that don't know: Clomid is a fertility drug given to women who wish to have babies. MHNI found a CH sufferer who 'accidentally' was taking his wife's Clomid by mistake. His clusters had decreased 'dramatically'. When he learned of his 'mistake', he quit taking the Clomid and his clusters returned in a BIG way. So, he started taking it again and it helped again. He is currently using 75 mg a day and his clusters has stopped. Now, MHNI has 'a few' people on Clomid for clusters. I tried this once and ended up very sick after 3 weeks. My PCP said I was sick because of the Clomid and ordered me to stop. My neuro's were skeptical that this is what made me sick. They wanted me to try it again. I've been on it for 16 days now and I have seen a reduction in HA frequency and intensity. I know it's still a little early to pass judgement on this ... but it IS seeming to help me when no other preventative has. Just thought i'd share ;) Unsolved |

Title: Re: Clomid is helping Post by Samantha_Smith on Aug 11th, 2004, 11:27am So did the guy's wife have a baby? If the guy was "accidently" taking his wife's fertility meds I can't imagine there was much left over for his wife to use .... Just wondering. Glad to hear that you are doing so well, Unsolved. I'm pleased to know that your neuro's are willing to take chances and think outside the conventional box in order to help a patient such as yourself who is hurting so deeply. When my nuero took a chance on me and used Botox to lessen the cluster's we were both very pleased with the outcome. Thank you so much for the update. Hopefully, the good news will continue! Wishing you pain free days and nites, Samanatha |
