Title: Does imitrex do this to you?
Post by Jayne on Aug 10th, 2004, 9:56am
It's not a big deal at all I am just wondering.
After I have jabbed myself (always with a third), if I take a drink of something or a bite of something, the insides of my mouth react as though I had just put a really strong "sweet tart" in my mouth and my taste buds go nuts, only on the first sip or bite of something, then it's fine again. As I said no biggie, just seeing if it happens to anyone else.??

For what it's worth.  I use the NS and I have never had that happen.  My sense of taste does get a little messed up, but it does change like you described.

Hrmmmm, I had never mentioned this before...  My taste buds seem to remain unchanged, but I get a feeling of "lockjaw" similar to what you describe.  No, it doesn't last long at all...seconds actually.

phew I'm not a freak.
Sometimes that taste bud freak out can hurt a little. I'm sure my face looks like a bulldog chewing on a nettle when I grimace [smiley=laugh.gif]
I wonder why it does that????

YES I ALSO NOTICED THAT I WAS HAVING A FUNNY TASTE IN MY MOUTH AFTER I STARTED TO USE THE IMITREX INJECTIONS.  I HAD THOUGHT THAT IT WAS JUST BECAUSE OF THE CHs BUT  NOW THAT I THINK ABOUT IT. IT STATED AFTER I STARTED THE INJECTIONS.
