Title: Salvia--legal, but effective?
Post by notseinfeld on Jul 7th, 2004, 11:07pm
Just came across this for the first time----could use a chemical breakdown if anyone's equipped with such.

Seems like a 20-30 minute experience would be far easier to handle plus, you may meet mother nature!

Stop right there.  For starters this substance is completely unrelated to indole alkaloids.  It works in an entirely different way.  It is UNLIKELY to help your CH.

PLUS 30 mins may not seem long right now, but Salvia can make percieved time stand still, and enternity is a very long time when you are panicking.

You safest bet is to grow your own philosophers stone.  With all hallucinogens the route to a pleasant experience is not related to how long the effects last in real time.  The secrets are:

1) Mindset.
2) Skullcap to help with 1), or even valium as a last resort.
3) Smoothness of onset.
4) Overall mildness of effects.

I know of alot of people at another BBS I frequent, homerecording.com/bbs, that have smoked it. They don't have cluster's... But they seem to like it. It's pretty trippy from what I hear.
If you're just looking to "get off" legally, try it, but don't expect any help with your headache...

Not looking to get off, looking to get out from under! I've got about 0 faith in western meds at this point and am shaking the proverbial tree hoping something falls and works out.

Chiefly been studying remedies that are psilocybin-like in properties such as the Serotonin we make naturally and distribute irregularly. Looking at DMT and Iboga currently and I've got a sneaky feeling that if this condition were around in 1,000AD we'd be taken care of by the local shaman. Note: Seeing the Shaman is a situation I'm considering in a frighteningly serious way.

Maybe a stupid question on my part, but Have you tried 5htp?

I'd say the first treatment you'd get back then would be a hole drilled in your head. But if it helps... [smiley=huh.gif]

That'd be a 'no' on the 5HTP trial Tom. In the sketchy science of CH, that does indeed seem to be an area of interest.

Got a link bro?

Not really, but as John (Giovanni) told me, (paraphrasing here)  Walk your arse into your local GNC or pharmacy and buy some.  Just do not be on any ssri's while taking it.
