Title: Cell Cept
Post by UN_SOLVED on Jul 7th, 2004, 11:06am
Probably not alot of you have even heard of this drug. It is an immunosuppressant drug given to help prevent organ rejection after a heart / kidney transplant. It is steriod-like and supposed to be like Prednisone without many of the side effects.
I did the maximum dose (blood levels checked weekly & bi-weekly) for 14 weeks with no positive results. It didn't help or hurt me. Didn't notice any side effects at all from it.
This was given to me to try by MHNI (as probably a 'last ditch' effort) for the prevention (or reduction) of cluster headaches.
Just thought i'd pass on this info about my results with this drug that perhaps others may try in the future.

Wish it would've helped.  :-/

Gotta go get some more Imitrex now !!

Bummer that it didn't help.  Cellcept is officially approved for organ rejection, but it is also being investigated for lots of autoimmune diseases (MS, lupus, MG, AI thyroiditis, etc) as well as psoriasis. It could be that one of the 'side effects' of cortisone is what helps with CH.
