Title: Bitter taste with nasal spray Post by ria369 on Jun 23rd, 2004, 12:51am I find relief with imitrex injections, but need to monitor how much I use it (insurance only covers so much). I have a prescription for imitrex nasal spray, but found the after taste in the back of my throat is nauseating; does anyone have any suggestions to remedy this? Imitrex helps trememdously, but the taste of the nasal spray is simply awful. Thanks. |

Title: Re: Bitter taste with nasal spray Post by Gator on Jun 23rd, 2004, 3:45am I use the Zomig Nasal Spray and have the same problem, sometimes. First off, make sure you don't inhale too deep. You want it to be absorbed by the nasal mucosa and not go up into your sinuses or to the throat. For the bit that does drip down the back of your throat, I find that eating a sour dill pickle wipes out the nasty taste. Good luck with it. Gator |

Title: Re: Bitter taste with nasal spray Post by pubgirl on Jun 23rd, 2004, 4:16am Know what you mean Ria! Tastes vile and makes me gag. Same advice as Gator, don't snort too hard, then less goes down the back of your throat. Sod the pickles though, I find a sweet drink swallowed immediately afterwards washes the residue down quickly. Title: Re: Bitter taste with nasal spray Post by don on Jun 23rd, 2004, 6:23am You should not be getting the spray into the back of the throat. Dont inhale the spray, it is meant to soak through the mucus membranes in the nose. Drink a little honey if any is getting into the throat. |

Title: Re: Bitter taste with nasal spray Post by thomas on Jun 23rd, 2004, 8:38am Who gives a fuck how bad it tastes. You are using it to abort a ch. If it tasted like week old baby shit and got rid of the ch, I would not complain about the taste. |

Wendy, just inhale normally, that's what I do. I don't get it down my throat. If you're still getting it, do what you do now. I can hear it now... :o ;;D pd |
