Title: cluster headaches are finally gone! Post by dannyoct16 on May 24th, 2004, 9:41pm ive had cluster headaces since i was 19, im now 27. ive seen three diffrent doctors and ive finally struck gold! i saw the best neuro at the cleveland clinic three months ago and here is what he gave me: verapamil 80 mg magensium 500mg (gnc) melatonin 3mg (gnc) i started with Verap 2x day for one week, then 2 veraps in the morning and 2 after dinner for one week and then 3 in the morning and 3 at dinner for the last two months. the mag is take 2x a day and mel 2 at night he gave me zomig to take if i got a ch. ive had probably four ch's and the zomig is by far worked the best. i use to get them 4xweek so ive made great progress. i just saw the doc last week and he told me when i go three weeks without a ch which he thought was very soon to cut back on verapamil to 4 insted of six and to eventually cut them out completely. he assured me that they would be gone for good within a short period of time so im very much looking forward to that! hope this helps someone out there |

Title: Re: cluster headaches are finally gone! Post by BobG on May 25th, 2004, 5:32am Thanks for the info and welcome to the board. Glad to hear you found a good neurologist and the meds are working. Stick around and let us know how you're doing and what happens in 3 weeks when you start to cut back on the dose. |

Title: Re: cluster headaches are finally gone! Post by Edski_1 on May 25th, 2004, 9:23am Doesn't sound like an unrealistic combination. A lot of folks have success with those components. Good to hear you found a combination that works! :) |

Title: Re: cluster headaches are finally gone! Post by Superpain on May 26th, 2004, 5:43pm Coolness. That does seem to be one of the more effective treatment combo's. And the great part is 2/3 of it is otc. |
