Title: Maxalt Melts anyone? Post by FruitbatsAngel on Apr 5th, 2004, 2:48pm Having seen a different GP this morning I came out laden with O2 on repeat script and a script for Maxalt Melts. Its a drug called Rizatriptan in a wafer that dissolves on the tongue. I am meant to use it if O2 fails, or if I am somewhere O2 can't be used (ie its at home and I'm not). Anyone else used it? How did you find it? We talked about the Imigran jabs but he said these may work as well but be less of a pain cos of the ease of use. Cheers for the input. Sorry I am not posting much, just not in a great space right now. That said, thanks for the previous posts about dentists. I've not laughed that much in a while! Ali |

Title: Re: Maxalt Melts anyone? Post by Prense on Apr 5th, 2004, 4:29pm Even if the maxalt works for you, I would doubt that it would be as quick as the imitrex injections. I tried maxalt mlt 10mg for about 4 months. It never touched any of my attacks. I hope it works for you though. Chris |

Title: Re: Maxalt Melts anyone? Post by FruitbatsAngel on Apr 6th, 2004, 11:39am I ended up trying it while out yesterday. I was tired afterwards but it did help the headache a little. I think I'll wait til I need to try it again before making a judgement on whether it works or not. Watch this space, as they say! Ali |

Title: Re: Maxalt Melts anyone? Post by sandie99 on Apr 7th, 2004, 5:54am Hi there! Maxalt works wonders with my CHs! It's the only painkiller that actually helps what comes to me. The pain goes away quickly. These days I do get side effects, like slight chest pain, little problems in breathing, feeling tired and nauseous, but they pass quickly. I hope it helps with your CHs, too. Best wishes, sandie99 |
