Title: First try on oxygen Post by FruitbatsAngel on Mar 31st, 2004, 2:19pm Hi all... I've just got my O2 prescribed and this is my first time of using it.... All I can say is "ye gods, I wish I had found this before". My CH is gone and I feel good again. 10 minutes ago I was about to start head bashing.... I like this... Ali |

Title: Re: First try on oxygen Post by neetnut on Apr 8th, 2004, 8:28pm How do you get your Doc. to perscribe the O2? My doc just keeps giving me more drugs to try. Enough of the drugs I feel like a walking zombie already, I want relief! Anita |

Title: Re: First try on oxygen Post by HypnoticFreddy on Apr 8th, 2004, 11:01pm Neetnut, I might suggest going over to the OUCH site and reading and printing out some of the oxygen information and bringing it with you to the doctor. See this link: http://www.maplefallswebdesign.com/misc/oxygen/oxygen.htm You can also speak on behalf of the thousands of members on this and the OUCH websites and many Neuros who VERY often prescribe oxygen for clusterheadaches. You have the ability to be aggressive in talking to your doctor about your thoughts on treatment, and bringing in a little literature would be a great thing. Just read so many posts throughout this message board on the positive responses from oxygen. Be strong and stern and present it in a positive manner. If the doctor doesn't budge, go somewhere else. Get in with a GP. Another GP may know, and be willing to prescribe it for you. -Freddy |

Title: Re: First try on oxygen Post by neetnut on Apr 9th, 2004, 9:31pm Thanks for the info Freddy. I have been recently diagnosed with clusters and the pain is awful when they hit. I have learned that they are not as common in women for some reason then they are for men. I was just happy to hear a name put to my pain. Now would be greatful to end the pain. Once again thanks for the info. |
