Freddy,

I don't believe that your susposed to do that.  The same amount of drug enters your system in pill, spray, injection, but the stat dose or injection is faster.

I believe the rule is at least 2 hours apart and not for the same headache and no more than two a day.

The good news is your still here and feel okay.  If you were going to have some negative reaction, it probably would have happen before now. I have done as many as 6 full stat dose injections in one day.  I don't recommend it.

You should give your nasal spray at least up to 20 min. to take effect.  But they should be administered 2 hours apart.

Hrmmmm, the sheets that come with my injections say 1 hour apart.  Still, that's alot more than 6 minutes.   ;;D

Old Age---memory is gone. LOL  ;;D

Freddy,

Have you tried melatonin?  Last cycle I had very good luck with this.  T_H_B , Thomas, et als had results.  It would be worth a try--cheap and easy to obtain.

Also, if you get into a pinch on the stat dose imitrex--give me a PM.

Simple answer Freddy. Don't do it! (which I'm sure you know anyway, but many of us have done what you did when desperate)

Double doses of Imigran are not good for your heart and circulatory system.

Have you tried 02 yet, sorry I can't remember.
I use the 02 while taking a Triptan pill, so that the pill can begin entering my system to mop up any residual pain from the 02.
It works for me, but may not for others of course.

Consider buying from Canada. I've been using, www.LePharmacy.com for two-years. Have found them to be ethical, prompt.

Wendy gave you the answer that I was going to give.  Use the 02 while the shot or nasal is taking effect.  I don't ever use the nasals, they don't work for me, but 1/3 of an injection does.  Doesn't make much sense....but, there ya go.... :-/.

I wouldn't use that much triptan in that short of a period.  It might leave you okay this time, but it might hurt you the next time you do it.

Be careful,
Tracey

Aside from the big 'how about you avoid doing this' warnings on the box, I would say the primary side effect is that it makes you scream that you are out it (see your rant from 4 days ago)  ;)

Good to see you have a supply again.  I really would ration it a bit, Frederico.

Just curious... what is your Canada drug hangup?  A 'not free' thing, a 'Canada Imitrex is like generic beer' thing, or something else?  I pick up overseas drugs all the time, both mail order and when I am there on business... same product, minus the 750%+ markup.

Hi from Canada,

I only know the prices for the nasal spray sorry but this is how it breaks down.

6 doses (one box) is $101.97 and I pay 20% about 20.39 I think.  I am also able to submit may receipts to my wife's insurance and get 80% of the $20 back, so it costs me only about $5.00 for 6 doses.

Fred - we have been through this before. You don't have to "disect the stat pen" tio do the imitrex tip and it is NOT A DISASTER it is a life, cash  and meds saver!

Read and digest the "button on the left" carefully!

When you "get it" and try it you will kick yourself for putting yourself through all the stress of running out of injections. Trust us - many have fantastic success with this great idea that DJ first proposed some years ago.

Try it
John

Freddy I really think that you need to talk to your doc about preventative rather then just trying to abort each and every HA. That would drive a person crazy, but if you can get a preventative that can reduce the intensity and maybe the frequency of the HA then you will not be so trigger happy to shoot Imitrx.

I mean really 6 mins is all you are allowing it to work?  How long your your HA last if you dont have trex to abort?  I am really courious as to what level you are experiencing?  You say that 5 mins later if was worse then when you took the NS. As I only get 6 NS a month I wait until I KNOW it is going to be a k8/9+ before I use it, they are gold to me.  Anything less and I know that it will end I deal with it and pick myself up afterwards.

I know how bad CH'es hurt we all do, but you have to deal with the pain for a little bit to allow the NS to work. Mine have been working much faster since I have started making the NS soak intothe nasel membrain rather then sniffing.  This was listed here, that you shoot the ns and do not sniff hard, but just enough to make sure that it does not run right out, then pinch your nose closed to allow for the Imitrex to absorb. This cuts the time for the NS to take effect for me. You really might want to try it.

PF Wishes to you,
Tia
