Title: How About Biofeedback and Lithium ? Post by Judy_K on Mar 10th, 2004, 7:43pm Hi, Everyone! My husband is still having CH's since October. Lost job in January. Neuro has him working up dosage on Lithium. Yesterday started taking 3 - 300 mg a day from 2 a day. Not much change in the CH's. They've been mostly at night around 9:00 p.m. When he started the Lithium they moved about in the day but usually stay at 1 a day. Lucky in that respect, I guess. Also on Verapamil, Imipramine and oxygen sure does help! But when will the Lithium start working? And has anyone had success with biofeedback? Do you need a specific type of CD or cassette, certain sounds? Our local library is very helpful! Are there any libraries that have something that works they could get on loan for us to try? We are low on income but if it works we could look into purchasing it! Is anyone working with these blame things? Thanks again for the previous responses. GOD BLESS all you sufferers. HANG IN THERE!!!! Judy |

Title: Re: How About Biofeedback and Lithium ? Post by Charlie on Mar 10th, 2004, 10:50pm Here are two links. Some people call this biofeedback. I don't but it has some similar features: http://www.netsync.net/~charlies/ This one is to a letter written by a sufferer that is the best we have to explain to friends and family that this horror has nothing to do with what is thought of when people hear “headache:” http://www.ouch-uk.org/ch/note_colleagues.cfm Good luck and let us know how you're doing. Title: Re: How About Biofeedback and Lithium ? Post by Karla on Mar 11th, 2004, 2:06pm I took 900mg of lithium for a couple of years and it helped get rid of most of my ch. It started to work almost immediatly. I tried biofeedback and it didn't do a thing for me. The dr gave up and felt real bad. He couldn't believe how relaxed I was yet I was able to have ha's. Blew his theorys out of the water I guess. |

Title: Re: How About Biofeedback and Lithium ? Post by BobG on Mar 11th, 2004, 5:36pm If increases in the Lithium isn't helping maybe an increase in the Verapamil will help. Many here are on both. What dose of Verapamil is he on? Many are on doses that will scare the crap outa some doctors. |
