Just wonder what i can expect as far as side effects since i have never taken the injection before. the pill just made my throat hurt.

I get a bit "twitchy"/tingly in the extremities and slightly hyper afterwards and can't sleep, but nothing worse than that for me. If you get anything dramatic, consult your doctor asap.

I would recommend NOT doing a whole shot the first time. (I only use 1/2 to 2/3 of a shot). Some side effects could include tightness in the chest, a burning sensation, or a heat flash. You may not get any side effects but if you do and they are really bothersome, consult a doc.

Unsolved

Hopefully the only side effects will be NO HEADACHE !

The few times that I have used the injections, I feel really warm and I can feel my heart race for a little. THen as the HA subsides the heart slows down.

I have been noticing with my HA's that my heart starts to have an iractic(SP) beat. a few hard beats then soft again. Im really not sure what that means but i think its beacuse i am getting worked up from the pain.

With a full shot, my head and chest feel tight and my face gets red, plus a very unpleasant "rush". Now I get five 25ml shots out of two vials--for me that takes care of the attack, conserves the Imitrex, and pretty much eliminates any side effects. You can use the "Imitrex tip" button to the left if you're on self-injectors.

If you are on other Triptans, ergot-containing drugs or have heart problems, be EXTREMELY cautious and make sure your MD knows about it.

I hope you don't have any of the side effects. Best bet is to use less than a full injection if it will provide relief.

I never really had any problems with the injections. I feel somewhat tired afterwards. The injections had worked incredibly fast usually within 5 minutes (full dose).
