Post by Scooter on Feb 27th, 2004, 10:06pm
Has anybody tried Magnesium Citrate?  I heard they work in some cases for Migrains don't know if they work for Clusters.  Iam thinking 400mg per day.  Any feed back would be appreicated.

is dat like plain ole Magnesium?  I take 250mg twice a day...total of 500mg.  I was just put on it because not only is it supposed to have a help in headaches, but it helps with the constipation side effect of some meds....verapamil is a big one for that.  i've only been on it for a few days...we'll see!

Oh, yes it helps against constipation! It even helps if you don't have constipation.

Let's say it was a case of near-terminal wet plops and no cluster relief for me.

Hey, I was definitely helped by the mag citrate, but took it witih the calcium citrate (it was a combo liquid from Vitamin world) and that really helped prevent those lovely trots  [smiley=laugh.gif].  I took 1000 mg of cal/500 mg of magnesium citrate mixed with small amount of juice to help absorption (which also reduces the trots).  Took half of this in the a.m. with breakfast and rest about an hour before bed. Helps me sleep, keeps me plumbing working and reduced those  [smiley=huh.gif] headaches.  But, it does not help everyone or some get by with less.
