Hello Everyone ,

I am new to this site and was excited to find others suffereing like me. I am currently in a cycle and am trying to see my Neuro but until I can I still have imitex nasal left from last time does any one know how much I can safely take ?

Welcome aboard.

According to the manufacturer, you can use up to two 20mg doses of Imitrex nasal in 24 hours, each dose at least two hours apart.

The safety of treating more than 4 headaches in a 30 day period has not been established.

Obviously most ClusterHeads use a lot more than this.

This cycle has been so bad ,I've used more than the 4 in 30days. I have not gone past the 40mg in 24 hours though but who can tell when the next pain hits and you need relief.

Sorry you're getting hit bad right now.

Personally, I wouldn't be seriously worried about using more than four in thirty days but there are side effects and if you have heart problems be very careful.

Oxygen helps a LOT of people and it's probably the safest drug we have against these damned things.

Also you need a preventative med if you don't have one.

Maybe you can get your neuro to call in an emergency prescription until you can get in to see him.

During the peak of my cycles, I have used at LEAST two per day for over a month (stat dose injections). If this happens again, I will combine with O2 to try to limit numbers.

This time, I'm on the "alternative" therapy and hopefully will need zip in the way of imitrex.
