Title: Oxygen Post by Artie on Jan 31st, 2004, 10:25pm My husband has chronic cluster headaches. Oxygen used to work for him, but stopped after a year of so. Has oxygen stopped working for anyone else? Thanks! Artie |

Title: Re: Oxygen Post by ave on Feb 1st, 2004, 2:48pm For some - but then, O2 is not universally given for clusters and often given in the wrong strength, so that is not saying anything. I know people on this message board for whom it became less effective. They have added a bubbler (to humidify the O2 if I read it right) and some supercool their O2. Does your husband use O2 with a non-rebreather face mask at a strenght of 10-15 lpm? Nose canules, f'r instance, are usually a waste of time for clusters. |

Title: Re: Oxygen Post by Artie on Feb 1st, 2004, 6:43pm thanks for the info! In fact, he did use nasal canulas and it worked for quite awhile that way. Then it quit working so he stopped using it. Since then I found the info on this site about nonrebreathing masks. I am hoping he will try it again with that modification. |

Title: Re: Oxygen Post by henzey on Feb 2nd, 2004, 2:20pm Hey, I also had a somewhat mixed bag with O2....some folks get addicted to it...have to get more and more of it to keep the beast away. Like most of the treatments, it can lose its effectiveness over time. I find that I do best not relying too much on just one thing or another. Sorry that he's having a bad time of it. I can relate to that! |
