I've never heard of it being used for cluster--but in view of the warnings about side effects--I would NOT want it used on me until other meds have failed to stop my clusters.

Following is a partial statement of side effects. The mfg.has just been required to add "black box" warning on it's printed materials--the most severe warning the FDA requires.

"Droperidol is used to reduce the incidence of nausea and vomiting during surgical and diagnostic procedures. However, because of the risk of serious, sometimes fatal proarrhythmic effects, the manufacturer states that use of droperidol should be reserved only for those patients who have failed to respond adequately to other drugs in the treatment of perioperative nausea and vomiting, either because of insufficient efficacy or intolerable adverse effects."

MHNI is now using it as a 'protocol' (preventive) along with Benadryl. I had it every 8 hours for 6 days !!
