Athough I've been reading this site for over a year now I've never posted anything. I've been haveing cluster head since about age 8. I take imitrex 50mg when I have one but lately It dosen't work as well. I've tried injections and the 6mg dose dosen't seem to be enough. Do people get tolerance to imitrex? Also I get rebound headaches a fews hour after my last dose. Anyhow I'm getting one right now... Thanks

There is a thread in the general topics section called something like "Isn't anybody concerned" that deals with rebound headaches from using Imitrex. Lots of people think that their headaches are more frequent and/or their cycles have gotten longer since starting on Imitrex. Check out that thread.

Supposedly, no. I cannot answer the question in a general sense, but in my case so far, it still works.

Hi cwvanpelt

Have you tried preventative med?

To limit the use of injections, i try to only use it when i wake up with a kip 7-8 1-2 hours after falling asleep : this a good abortive when i am in peak of an headache.
During the day, at first sign of a headache, i jump on the O2 tank, or if it is not available, i rely on zomig 2.5mg.

My point is try to diversify your arsenal against CH.
