Title: Masturbation and O2 Post by Pokenaut on Aug 29th, 2003, 2:28pm Being the frank individual that I am, and KNOWING that other sufferers MUST have "stumbled" onto this, I felt obliged to pass this on...it has worked several times in this cycle. Late in the evening, when the shadow grows longer and stronger and you just KNOW an attack is imminent, but before the pain level causes loss of concentration, I have found that masturbation to orgasm followed by 10-15 min of O2 at moderate levels (5l/min) has completely aborted the oncoming attack. No doubt the issue of sexual release help (or not helping) has been discussed, and I am probably telling some of you nothing you don't already know. Sex with another human would be better (in the middle of a nasty divorce right now, so that is out), but maybe even then, I can imagine that the moderate pain level of an oncoming attack might prohibit you from satisfying your partner properly, whereas in masturbating that selfish focus isn't an issue. Ok...time for the flaming to begin for me saying this. 'Naut |

Title: Re: Masturbation and O2 Post by NewHeadPLZ on Aug 29th, 2003, 2:37pm Naut, I doubt that chokin yer chicken got anything to do with aborting yer attack... the O2 alone would do the trick... not that there's anything wrong with that. Personally, sex has kinna been a trigger fer me at times... goes along with that exercise stuff ppl talk about. Good luck with that.... |

Title: Re: Masturbation and O2 Post by Pokenaut on Aug 29th, 2003, 2:41pm I wouldn't be so sure about that. Studies have shown increases in endorphine levels post orgasm... Anyways, I was just trying to help :) 'Naut |

Title: Re: Masturbation and O2 Post by ave on Aug 31st, 2003, 4:57am Naut, no flames - just remember that what works for one of us does not necessarily work for others -more's the pity. We have seen other cases reported of people masturbating and getting rid of attacks. The point about redirecting the blood seems to be a good one (see Dr. Wright's circulatory technique - just ask Charlie). There is one drawback - if sex is really satisfying you will be totally relaxed afterwards. That's when clusters just love to strike again... So maybe hasty masturbation is a better deal than good sex. A thing to ponder. And Giovanni, I personally do not appreciate references to jumping of buildings, but then, every body is different. |

Title: Re: Masturbation and O2 Post by ClusterChuck on Sep 1st, 2003, 1:43am For me, orgasm is a definate no no during cycles. It will bring a whopper on in short order. As a matter of fact, the first one I ever had was during sex. So for me, no one, not even me, touches it during cycle, and that is a bummer as a chronic! No choked chicken on my diet, Chuck |

Title: Re: Masturbation and O2 Post by jmorgan52 on Sep 1st, 2003, 4:41am hey clusterchuck, nothing brings on a "whopper" for me during cycle ;D all I get is headaches, as in "sorry darling, not tonight, I have a headache". Sex with a partner or flying solo is a non-starter for me when I have CH. How the f...k do you guys manage to think arousing thoughts at this time? John |
