Title: Does anyone know? Post by cleon on Aug 8th, 2003, 2:12am Is there any similarities between the effects of ergotomine and shrooms in the body. Someone is allergic to ergot, and has been told not to use shroom, because the same reaction would happen ??? |

Title: Re: Does anyone know? Post by Tom on Aug 17th, 2003, 8:50am Both ergotamine and triptans are indole derivatives with vasoconstrictory effects - both taken at the same time exponentiate their a.m. action and may cause a heart or a brain stroke in the worst case. That's the reason why you should not take a triptan and an ergotamine derivative at the same time. Besides, there is the danger of the serotonin syndrome, too. Thomas |
