I have tried just about everything out there thus far! A friend recently asked me if I knew anything about Marijuana helping -- I don't know anything so I thought I would ask here. I hope this is OK with everyone.

Okay by me to ask here, but the answer is no. Marijuana rarely helps CH.

Some say it does nothing for them, others say it triggers attacks. I have seen few if any report that it helps.

This is the right place to ask questions.
Marijuana and cluster headaches DO NOT MIX!! If you are in cycle, two of the shurest ways to induce a dance with the beast are drink a beer or smoke a bowl.
If you are truly interested in trying 'alternative' treatment methods, check out all the information on the MB regarding shrooms.

I agree. during a cycle ganja is a CH trigger like alcohol. But when not cycling............................

I smoke the herb daily for the last 7 years... and I have had CH for 4 years.

When I am in a cycle ... Smoking weed will sometimes trigger an attack ... but, not everytime .... Probably 5 times out of 10 ... it will trigger it. (alcohol triggers it 9 out of 10) You'd think I would stop smoking herb during a cycle ... but I dont ... herb is like coffee for me.

It does help me in this sense ... If I am in the middle of a full-blown attack, and nothing seems to be working. If I smoke, it tends to relax me enough to the point that I can actually fall asleep. Sleep for me will always kill the Beast.

:'(I haven't smoked pot in many years, however when I was a teenager my headaches were worse, I smoked cigarettes at the time and the occasional joint, I can honestly say that both made my headache much worse.

until last two years or so,over here,a lot of people smoked hash called Soapbar.it was nasty,cut with brickdust,brass filings,plastic(?)amongst other things.however,to replicate the effects of north african hash(which is where a lot of it comes from it was also cut with LARGACTIL,which,as far as i know is a barb.on many occasions i hav found that smoking this can help lessen my HA.but i've also found that eating good hash works as well,particularly on shadows

It only ever triggered attacks for me, or at best did nothing. If someone is desperate to try weed then fair enough, but don't make CH the reason.

If you are looking for a natural treatment, and aren't concerned about legalities then use the shrooms. They are by far the most effective thing you can take for CH - so if the issue is CH and then why bother with weed?

If you want to smoke or eat weed then do it - but it's not going to help you headaches.

have to agree with many, marijuana and migraine do not mix, when my time comes, mary is off the list, alcohol is always off the list. ::)

helps for the shadows and minor headaches, but when a bad one really starts it only relaxes me, I seem not to panic that much...
