Title: Injections?
Post by JanetC on Jul 27th, 2003, 11:48am
Excuse my ignorance on all this  ??? but I'm posting on behalf of a friend (in the UK). Nevertheless, I am findind this website very interesting.
My friend is 60 and works  ridiculous hours with no set sleep patterns. He delivers Bitumen (the vapours could be a factor, but he suffered before this job).
My friend blames the fact that he eats too much protein (eggs, bacon, meat, etc) but it could just be a coincidence that the ch's subside when he cuts out this type of food).
I was wondering what the injections are that some of you are talking about.

For the most part we are talking about Imitrex, I think it's called Imagran or something close in the UK, same thing.

Any of you UKers tuned in?

Down here, its called Imigran and is the same as the stat dose Imitrex.  I believe the UK uses the same names and drugs. We cannot get the vials.
Your friend would need to see a neuro, or at least a GP to be prescribed Imigran but the good news is that it works in most cases within 10 minutes.
Good luck

hi i'm from uk.

my gp prescribes imigran self injection packs, similar to diabetic kits.quick and relatively painless but you feel weird for 10mins or so after.i also get oxygen to halt an attack, there is info on the left,in uk we can get 460litre bottles with a built in high  flow regulator on prescription, but my doc wants me to get larger bottles which means paying £150 for regulator

hope this helps a bit
