Hello all, I have been monitoring this forum since I began my third bout on March 16th. My last one was 19 years ago. It seems that this one is the worse and is taking the longest to go away.
I have tried most of the drugs, Cafergot, DHE, Verapramil, Prednisone, Etc.. I have recently started the Imitrex Injections in which I have had the best results, aborting the cluster in about 10 minutes, however, because my insurance will only give me 2 doses per day, I am screwed if I get a 3rd or 4rth cluster.
I had an electrical massage Stimulator that I had purchased for back pain 3 years ago, and for the hell of it, tried it for my cluster. It has two two gel pads that stick to the rear base of your skull. You set the unit to deliver an electrical massage that lasts 10-20 minutes. I have had relief about 70% of the time within about ten minutes.
Has anyone else tried something similar? And, if anyone would like to try it, I will look on the box and get the manufacturers information and post it on this thread.

LMAO Lee! Every lady needs their "BOB" ! Not to make fun of the original message, i just had to comment...
I have a tens unit, and it doesn't do crap for the CH's, except maybe to use it to beat myself in the head with!

There is a recent article on chronic CH suffers given 3 years of remission using "deep brain electrical stimulation" at Pubmed, This involves an implant that is basically a pacemaker for part of the brain. Electromagnetic stimulation can also treat depression, and selectively turn on or turn off different parts of the brain (I am talking about very focused magnetics applied in a lab, not just wearing a cap with magnets).

I don't know how strong your unit is, but I would be concerned about possible side effects. Too much electricity could overstimulate brain cells and cause neurological damage.
