I am wondering how long your 1/3 an injection takes before it has an effect?

Anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes, depending on the how strong the ch is. If I'm in public, and catch it very early....5 min. If I wait it out till it has ramped up good....10 min. Few times it has required another shot.

1/3 rd won't work for me. 1/2 works every time in 5-10 minutes.

About 5-10 min, in Oklahoma we say Youall! or Youins as needed.

Just how is it that you only inject a portion of the Imitrex? My dose-stat just gives you one shot. Are you guys using a different type of delivery method?

When I was using imitrex it took from ten to twenty minutes, and that was the worst ten or twenty minutes of your life. The CH went to a 10 and the pain made it seem like an hour. Now I use DHE one cc injections which seem to work much better.

:o I never use 1/3 injection, only a whole one.
I'm wondering how it can work 1/3 an injection... sometimes, during an attack, I do 2 injections... >:(

About 5-10 minutes if I catch it early enough. AND YES, 1/3 DOES work about 95% of the time! Soemtimes I have to talk another third, but rarely.

I have never split my injections, but will try that during the next cycle. There are two types of injections for the Imitrex - one is the stat dose and the other is a tube that contains a full size needle (has a special "gun" that you load it in)...if you get that one, it would be really easy to use it more than once.

Yes you can get vials of the Imitrex in addition to the DHE. I'm not sure of the cost though and the insurance limitations....
