Title: Red Bull
Post by teri on Jun 21st, 2003, 3:52pm
I thought I would share this with those who suffer from Cluster Headaches.  It sounds strange but when this cluster began about 3 weeks ago, at the onset of the headache I drank 2 Red Bull Energy drinks quickly.  Within about 10 minutes the headache was gone.
I THOUGHT I HAD FOUND THE CURE!
This worked for the first two weeks. Unfortunatlly, it doesnt seem to be working this week.  :'( Seems the third week has always been the worst for me at 3 or 4 headaches per day.  I made it though the 1st two weeks and think that the Red Bull helped.
Someone told me that Red Bull isnt good for your heart?  I dont know if that is true, but quite honestly when I'm having one of those headaches,....I'd take almost anything to get rid of it.  Hope this helps someone else,......but take caution,....it does make your heart beat fast!  Lot's of caffine.

Someone, once, described Red Bull as a liquid tasting like "carbonated sweetarts". I agree, and somewhat like the taste. It is espically a good drink with vodka, and I believe is popular in raves.

Did you know though, that it is illegal in Canada. There have been some reported deaths in Europe. I don't know if it was clearly proven that Red Bull was the reason. Perhaps, more likely, it was dehydration from raving.

I have never tried downing Red Bulls during a cluster cycle. Maybe I'll give it a try next time AFTER my Imitrex injection.

Red Bull is the mixer of choice (with Vodka) for anyone trying to get drunk as a skunk in Ireland.  It has the same caffeine as a double espresso and also contains Taurine (these seem to be the two main ingredients in most of the sports drinks over here).  It certainly makes your heart vibrate after drinking a couple of them - but as far as helping with headaches - I'm not too sure.  Anyone else had Red Bull success?
