Title: Significant relief of sinus symptoms and headaches Post by headpain on Jun 16th, 2003, 8:49pm I've tried various medications throughout the years to try to decrease the rhinitis that comes with the headaches. Oral prednisone seemed to be the only medication that worked. Flonase and astelin nasal spay did nothing. Antihistamines did nothing either. I started taking SINGULAIR about three weeks ago with a significant decrease in the runny nose throughout the day and less sinus pain. It works on leukotrienes which are chemicals involved in inflammation. It doesn't seem to stop the deep nerve pain but overall I would say it has improved my quality of life. It makes me less sensitive to headache triggers such as perfumes. It is approved by the FDA for asthma and allergic rhinitis. I think that its use makes sense since it potentially blocks the release of chemicals which are released once a headache starts. I hope this helps someone.:) :) :) |
