Title: BOTOX-WORKED Post by kareno on Jun 5th, 2003, 8:45pm Hi everone, I have posted here a few times about my daughter. Since my last post, she has had two botox appointments. The first lasted for 2 months which was so great concidering she has been cronic for 2 1/2 years now. We tried everything and 5 different nero. She also tried the mushrooms which were also a big help at a time when nothing else worked. We were fighting the insurance company and they finally agreed to give the botox a try. This last dose consisted of 47 shots in her temple, forehead (both sides) and neck. From the second day after the shots no more HA, she would get 2 to 8 HA per day. We are so happy. The only side effect is that she can not wrinkle her forehead anymore. I thank God every night, this has given her life back. I highly suggest you give this a try. I have read you post for over 2 years now and it seems that not many have done this. It is not a cure but does stop the awful pain that had destroyed her life. She does still feel a slight feeling at 7:00 am some days (7 oclock was always a 10 HA for her) but says it just can't seem to come. Hope you all find pain free days and nights. |

Title: Re: BOTOX-WORKED Post by sfly on Jun 6th, 2003, 8:33pm wow, that was like reading my own words... i got my first injections last fri. didn't take them away, but where i got the injections there was no pain. same spots, forehead, sides, and back of nexk, also not able to wrinkle my forehed, but at my age it's a plus, no more forehead wrinkles!!! i started a prednisone taper yesterday to stop the cycle, you see this is my first cycle for 5 years.. before that i suffered for 28 years, having a 30-40 day cycle 2 times a year. when i'n not having clusters, i have tension ha everyday, that was my reason for the botox. good luck to your daughter... |

Title: Re: BOTOX-WORKED Post by Roxy on Jun 10th, 2003, 10:03am kareno, I'm glad the botox seems to be helping. My doctor is wanting to try the botox on me......I'm still a little hesitant about this process. Not sure if it will do any good or not, but I'm about to the point that I'll give it a shot. He says it works on about 1/2 of his cluster patients. I've been doing the shroom treatment, but it will be another three months till I can do those again. I'm hoping the botox might work in the meantime. Please let us know how this works out, Tracey |
