Title: Indocin Post by JCM on May 14th, 2003, 2:49pm Has anyone tried Indocin ???. My nuerologist wants me to try it if my headaches dont stop this week. This is my 4th week in a cycle, but I think (pray) it is coming to an end. My last 10 was 3 days ago. I am also having a sleep study this week. Improper sleep apparently can trigger a CH thats why most occur at night. |

Title: Re: Indocin Post by Marc on May 14th, 2003, 6:36pm Indocin (aka Indomethacin) is a non steroidal anti inflammatory known to work wonders on CPH - but not CH's. I personally think it's a great idea to try it. But, make sure (really sure) that you take it with lots of food or it will burn a nice big hole in your stomach. Anything under 100-150mg per day and you can bet it won't work. If you really want to see if it works for you, take at least 50mg x 3 per day. WITH food!! Marc |

Title: Re: Indocin Post by baldy on May 14th, 2003, 6:55pm I've been on Indomethicin for years..25 mg only at a time. Worked for years but lately,,,,not doing anything. My doctor allowed me 6x25 a day if needed. I only took them as needed and they worked(usually). Anyway, my latest choice is Naproxin 325 mg. I've been taking this for something else and found that CH'S were gone as well. Stopped taking it and CH came back. So, I've started taking old Nappy on demand..no more than 2 a day. So far so good. Could be the cycle change too..who knows with these things. Good luck, baldy |

Title: Re: Indocin Post by Roxy on May 15th, 2003, 10:56am I really hope it will give you some relief. I was on indomethicin for about 4 mths., and it didn't change a thing with the ch's (also went the topomax route with the same results). Every med seems to work differently on different people, so I can't see where it would hurt to give it a try. PFDAN, Tracey |

Title: Re: Indocin Post by nancyann on May 15th, 2003, 12:29pm I have to say that the Indocin has drastically reduced my level of pain from 7-9 daily to 1-4 daily. What a relief. I actually feel as though I can breath normal again. |

Title: Re: Indocin Post by nancyann on May 16th, 2003, 8:24am I spoke too soon!!! I am at an 8 again early this morning. Where did I go wrong? I missed a dose yesterday evening. I was just so tired I completely forgot about my meds. I guess i won't make that mistake again. |
