Title: Generic Verapamil Vs. Calan & CCB Formulations
Post by BILLY on Apr 4th, 2003, 12:08pm
I've read that immediate normal release verapamil is recommended for CH over the controlled release or 24 hr capsules, would most here agree?

Is that because controlled release or 24 hr capsules are too slow to act on CH attacks?

Also I think I read a few docs mention Calan (costs 3-4x more) works better than generic verapamil, is that consistent with the experience of this community?

Are trials of more expensive Calan & other CCBs mainly recommended when generic verapamil fails?

If this is part of a FAQ, I'm sorry & feel free to direct me there:)

Thanks

I have tried both Calan and cheap non-name verapamil. The cheap no-name works just as well for me.
