Back in a cycle. I am taking Veralin PM (300mg). This is not working. I know others of you have mentioned taking higher doses and I was just wondering what dose works for others so maybe I can suggest this to my doc. My only other option is to be put on prednisone (aahhhgg). I need help controlling this beast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wendy most of the people take Verapamil not Veralin PM.I took Veralin PM but now take Verapamil 240mg 2x aday.Works better than the Veralin PM

Veralin PM is a time release version of Verapamil. It is intended to be taken before bed time and is released 5 or 6 hours later; some stuff for people who's heart problems show up on waking up in the morning, hardly a feature useful for CH.

The recommendation of Dr Goadsby is the normal release version of Verapamil, it's the one that works best for CH.

300 mg per day is a rather low dose for CH, it shows an effect for only a few.

agree with UELI.
The max dose (for heart and BP diseases) is 640 mg.
Some of us start to have good results at higher doses (until 1040!!!)

If you do not suffer of low BP and you never had a heart stroke, ask your doc to rise the dosage (and change to normal release.

at present i take 480 in the morning and 240 at night.

i have ramped to this amount in almost 2 years. lower amounts did work very well...butt eventually shadows and few CH's would begin. Each time I requested and received an increase....and at present i am once again totally painfree

Okay....when I first started verap, I was on 360 a day. I went almost two weeks pain free. It was damn near a miracle. Then after the two week period.....I just got slammed, in a really bad way. I upped the verap to 540 a day, without the neuro's approval....went almost two wks. PF again. It was absolutely lovely. Then.......I am getting just hammered again. I'm having a little bit of trouble with the side effects.......it makes me so frigging tired, I'm almost at the end of my rope.

I'm scared to up the dosage again......but, gotta do something.
