Title: Can Trigeminal Neur. Procedure fix C/H
Post by Wendy1 on Mar 30th, 2003, 8:09am
My sister-in-law recently underwent Trigeminal Neurolgia surgery to put a plate between the blood vessels and the affected nerve, could this procedure be done in the occipital area?  Just a thought.....

I don't think blood vessles touching the nerve is our problem.
Hows your sis in law?
Thats a serious operation, decompression surgery I believe they call it, they cut a hole in you skull, put teflon in between the nerve & vessel.  My friend does these operations & says they are very sucessful for the TN people. He said the very first thing they say when they wake up is "wow", they instantly know their problem is fixed.at least for a while anyway.
Hopw your sis had a great doctor!

My sister-in-law was on so much Tegretol, she could hardly function.  She is miracuously cured by the procedure.  She is a new person.  She had many blood vessels around a nerve, it was a very complicated surgery.  Thanks for asking

Wow  Glad to hear it worked for her! They had me on Tegratol , what a nasty drug that was, I took myself off that quick. Many vessles? I can only imagine the pain she was in. She must have great docs. Glad she is better  :):) May it never return!!!
