Well I've been on 300mg of Topomax since Jan. 8th.

Here's my update.

I know most (if not all) of you have horror stories about Topomax. I have been on it for a year. Starting @ 50mg last Jan., then up to 100mg in July, then up to 300mg this Jan.

I did not see any side effects until I hit the 300mg dose level. Then they hit. Kinda felt balloon headed all the time, didn't seem to walk right, friends caught me just looking off into space, ect.

Well as of about a week ago, the side-effects have gone way. As the "Good People" @ Topomax said they would.

As a side note. My Clusters have not gone away. They have however, greatly diminished. They are much less severe and don't last very long. Not the best I could hope for, but I ain't gonna complain.

Again, while I can't recommend Topomax for everybody it seems to work for me.
I will keep y'all updated.

Glad to hear you are having some relief!
I used topomax my last cycle (Feb 02) and at 100mg a day it in combo with verapamil worked! Still had the ch's but very tolerable pain. I must say the side effects were awful but better than the pain. I can't image 300mg!!! It was bad enough at 100mgs! Good luck to you and hope you get even more, complete relief!

I must be lucky or something. Like I said, I didn't "feel" any "sides" until I got to the 300mg level.
But I started off slow with 50mg & worked my way up to 300mg. Maybe that's why? ????

I am reluctant to go any higher with my dosage. When the sides did hit they weren't pleasant.
Plus, it's the sides I can't see & feel that worry me!
