Title: Re: Does Imitrex make you groggy? Post by ChristineL on Nov 21st, 2002, 6:50pm b.bop, I usually take it in the middle of the night when I am half asleep anyway so I can't say it has made me anymore sleepier than I was ;D The side effects I did get in the beginning were a heated flush sensation and tingling on the top of my head!! I also felt a bit lightheaded but it went away in a few minutes. When I cut my dosage down to 1/3 of the full 6 mg the symptoms went away. ChrisL |

Title: Re: Does Imitrex make you groggy? Post by Ann on Nov 29th, 2002, 7:31am I get the groggy feeling too, but it doesn't last longer than a 1/2 hour. After that I feel normal. However, I get hit mostly around supper time and I cannot eat after giving myself a shot. I have to wait a few hours. So now I have to start eating earlier, cause if I lose anymore weight, I will become invisible! LOL hugs Ann |

Title: Re: Does Imitrex make you groggy? Post by Edna on Nov 30th, 2002, 8:00am As Christine said, I most often shoot with imitrex after being awakened from sleep with the beastly visit, so after waiting my 5 - 7 minutes for relief.......it's back to resting and hopefully a peaceful sleep until the next attack during daytime or the following evening. When daytime visits occur, I usually lie down to rest (from "lack of sleep" during a cycle anyway)....after taking my imitrex Hope this little bit of info helps and wishing you pf moments EDNA |
