ok guys, i need help real bad. i am in a cycle right now, got O2, fiorcet and inderal, but in constant pain. i have a dr appt this afternoon, any suggestions on what they can give me to break cycle QUICK???????

cant eat for days hurts like a son of a bitch, any help will be greatly appreciated.

First, inderal is good for migraines and fioricette is good for tension headaches. Neither do much for clusters. Get injectable imitrex for an abortive to go with the O2 and get prednisone to stop the attacks right now. Back that up with some verapamil so when you have to stop the pred, the verap will be up to strength.

I have to agree with Bob. Imitrex injection is nectar of the Gods for me and the Medrol has stopped my attacks before. The only problems I had with the steroids were some mild side effects, and the attack returning at the end of the dose. Sounds like the Verapimil should take care of that.

Constant pain, Norma? You should be getting pain free time between attacks... are you not?

Bob's right about the pred - nasty stuff but it does break cluster cycles for a few days. And imitrex is a good abortive for clusters and migraines. My husband finally found success by combining verapamil with lithium - (either that or his cycle ended naturally - we won't really know until the next cycle if it was the meds that did it).

I just wont to add my medications for breaking out of cycle.But remember that i`m not a doc,just another clusterhead from Norway

Verapamil Retard 120mgX5-7/daily during cycle
Oxygene alone at 10ltm for 15 minutes or combined with imitrex-shots does miracles.The shots should start working in 6-9minutes.a few secons after that you are almost painfree
Prednisolone in high doze for 10 days 80mg
then over a 3 weeks periode step down like 60-40-30-20-10-5mg /daily

This is the miraclecure for me,but i`m not a doc.just another clusterhead from Norway
