Title: Neck Pain question Post by robzilla on Sep 26th, 2002, 12:41pm ???Does any one ever feel like your neck is going to snap off before a cluster and does your brain feel like it just was beat up by king king, after a cluster. Is there anything to take besides the strong meds when I feel this was? Robert |

Title: Re: Neck Pain question Post by curtisdsc on Sep 28th, 2002, 2:26pm i have been asking about neck pain as well. is your pain about middle way up your neck and it slowly eases up until your whole head is in pain also does your head get hot? the last couple of episodes i have strarted to get these symptons. they start the morning after a CH and sometimes later in the day. i can feel it starting as i type this. i cant find any drug to stop these though. i have followup with doc to see what it could be. i feel like if i could pop my neck it would cure it. i did go to chiro the other day he popped, i'm sorry did an alignment on my neck and it was gone almost instantly. i hope it is just tension. good luck |

Title: Re: Neck Pain question Post by SFChris on Oct 2nd, 2002, 7:18pm I always got the neck pain (and the sensation of feeling hot) before getting hit. Every late afternoon, I would get the neck pain, etc. followed by the shadows (pro drone?) for several hours eventually leading to the dance with the beast mid -evening. Sometimes massage or even ice would help a bit. Good luck. Chris |

Title: Re: Neck Pain question Post by Georgia on Oct 3rd, 2002, 9:16am Neck pain and stiffness are almost always my first warning signs that my shadow is escalating to a cluster...that and I get fog-bound, uhh...more so than normal, of course. |

Title: Re: Neck Pain question Post by kim on Oct 3rd, 2002, 6:12pm affected side of head also gets that tight knot in the neck preceding an attack. I apply heat to the neck pain and cold paks to the facial areas of pain. That's what a halfway informed neuro advised and it seems to help. Jump in a hot tup and put hot rag on the neck area while pressing ice paks to areas of face that hurt. Yes, it requires a bit of speedy activity at onset but hell, no time for slummin around anyway. Might as well get BIZZY. ;) PS: If that don't work, just dip a towel in ice water (drench it) and hang it over yur head. Looks dumb I know, but it can help. Keep dunkin the towel in the ice cold water, wring it out and hang it over yur head, gotta be COLD. pressure to the immediate "hurt" spots. |
