Title: Stupid Question About Imitrex (sorry!) Post by KaseyD on Aug 17th, 2002, 11:19am I posted on the general board that I am at a 2 year mark for being pain free!! Here is my stupid question: I have several doses of Imitrex injections in my cabinet that have expired. I have used expired medication in the passed but this (hopefully) will get beyond the length of time the other expired stuff did before I use it. Should I throw it away or is there a possibility it will work when/if I need it? How old is too old? |

Title: Re: Stupid Question About Imitrex (sorry!) Post by domm on Aug 17th, 2002, 3:39pm I started my third cycle after 3 years of remission and a move. Didn't have a doc in the area yet, so out of desperation, I took my three year old Imitrex, still sealed in the bubble (damn they are hard to open while westling with the beast) and got relief in 20 minutes. Continued taking them until I could get a new prescription. So, don't toss them. You never know. GL domm |

Title: Re: Stupid Question About Imitrex (sorry!) Post by KaseyD on Aug 17th, 2002, 5:05pm Thanks! I'm not sure I could actually throw them away even if you told me to, to be honest. It would be a horrible feeling knowing I didn't have any in the house just in case! |

Title: Re: Stupid Question About Imitrex (sorry!) Post by pjbgravely on Aug 17th, 2002, 8:37pm Does anybody know if the Imetrex nasel spray can be kept in the refrigerator to extend shelf life. I may have to reseach this as my cycles are in the two year range. No hurry, having left over Imetrex is not a problem right now. |
