Title: I feel like its Christmas Post by ChristineL on Aug 13th, 2002, 4:32pm Went to the Dr. today for the first time since my CH's started again. I brought a file full of info from here, OUCH, and other websites. I was armed and determined that she and the staff know exactly what I had. They were wonderful. My Dr. thanked me for the info - didn't get insulted - and was thrilled to have some latest and greatest updates. She gave me scripts for O2, Imitrex and Pred!!! I then went directly to the medical supply store and the guys had 2 "M" tanks delivered and installed within an hour. WOW - a great day!!! Chris L |

Title: Re: I feel like its Christmas Post by Cry-or-die on Aug 14th, 2002, 2:21pm Hi Christine, Good for you! What a great idea to arm yourself with all that paper ammo...I think I'll do the same, they won't give me oxygen for some damn reason...even though we know it works almost every time to abort my HA or tone it down if I wake up with one. Maybe if I flood her with all the positive research she will give in. Hope the meds work for you this go around like mine are working for me...just knocked the beast off his feet with a spray of migranol...HA was gone in 7 min...completely aborted...whew!!! that was close. I've had 5 wowzers in 17 days...which is a delightful switch from the norm ;D Good luck Christine ;) Cry P.S. Merry Christmas....hehehe |

Title: Re: I feel like its Christmas Post by ChristineL on Aug 14th, 2002, 6:48pm Thanks for all the good wishes. My doctor literally took the suggested treatments off of the Neuro web page that I had printed out for her. She thought it was great. Started to get one last night and turned on the O2 and my headache was gone within 10 minutes without even having to use the imitrex. Now I need to try the Imitrex tip as 2 doses cost me $122.00!!!! My new insurance plan doesn't go into effect until Sept 1 so yesterday was pretty costly but well worth it! Instead of using the needle that comes with the auto injector can I just transfer it all to a regular syringe and use it that way. I have access to syringes so that's not a problem. Chris L |
