Title: MRI scheduled Post by kari on Aug 13th, 2002, 2:48pm Neuro wants to run an MRI. Clusters don't show on them though, right? Whats the difference between an MRI and a Cat scan? Has anyone's MRI ever showed anything for CH? |

Title: Re: MRI scheduled Post by oringkid on Aug 13th, 2002, 3:06pm The MRI (magnetic resonance imaging (I think)) and the CT scan (don't know that one but know it is a superior x-ray) are done to rule out other problems, such as tumors or vascular anomalies etc. If your MRI or CT shows nothing then CH is a good possibility if your symptoms match the criteria. Hope this helps! Sherry |

Title: Re: MRI scheduled Post by Ted on Aug 13th, 2002, 3:13pm So, an MRI and CT isn't Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut? The MRI can see things better than a CT scan. I don't think anything's been picked up with an MRI. I believe the larger hypothalamus was detected by PET scans. |

Title: Re: MRI scheduled Post by ChristineL on Aug 13th, 2002, 4:17pm If he wants to see something have him do a color doppler - you can see where the Clusters are. The color doppler shows different levels of "heat" in your brain with different colors. I have had a ton of them done and they are cool. Its like having your picture taken. Chris L |
