Title: sleeping in a semi upright position Post by pjbgravely on Aug 6th, 2002, 9:19pm In the past when I thought these clusters were sinus ha's I found relief from my middle of the night ha's by sleeping in an almost sitting up position on my back. When this cycle started I did the same thing and I have had only a few wake up ch's. If I lay flat with a shadow the pain will double. I wonder If anyone else has found this to be true. |

Title: Re: sleeping in a semi upright position Post by Donna on Aug 6th, 2002, 9:23pm I tried this for years. Sometimes I missed a night headache, but not often.........so I don't know if sitting up was a help now and then or not. |

Title: Re: sleeping in a semi upright position Post by LauraP on Aug 7th, 2002, 7:45am pjbgravely, My husband gets these headaches almost everyday. And I can tell you that when he gets an attack he can not lay down. You're right, if he lays flat the pain doubles and triples. When he wakes up in the middle of the night with one he has to stand, walk, or sit straight up - but not lay down. However, sitting up doesn't make it go away. It has to run it's course, which could be 30 minutes or 3 hours. But whatever works for you go for it. Relief is relief. Good luck. |

Title: Re: sleeping in a semi upright position Post by Slammy on Aug 7th, 2002, 3:34pm When I am in the middle of an attack, I can only kneel and bury my head in an ice-cold pillow, in between pacing wildly around the room.... that's it Laura, go back and remove the 6 of 7 posts in here! Thatababy Laura! :-* Slammy 8) |
