Title: Shrooms? Post by JCinMilwaukee on Jun 21st, 2002, 4:53pm I have been a clusterhead for 14 years now, classic every 20 months or so. My question and topic revolve around the mushroom treatment. Does anyone hav egood input on this? Also, I work at a medical college and they are very interested in possibly pursing this under a gov grant / study. All input will be kept confidential...just need feedback. BTW - I am due any time now _ Keep Smiling |

Title: Re: Shrooms? Post by tommyD on Jun 21st, 2002, 8:23pm Now you wouldn't be teasin' us about that study, now would ya JC? There is plenty of anecdotal evidence of how well psilocybin works on cluster cycles. Check the post archives (button on the left) and try the search engine (upper right) for a collection of reports from folks who've tried it. The success rate is surprisingly high -- it's been estimated at 80 to 90 percent, but we really need controlled studies, with known dosages, elimination of confounding factors, etc. Let us know of any way we can help. Then we need legalization for medicinal use... but that will be a tougher nut to crack. Might be tough to get government funiding in this day and age in America. |

Title: Re: Shrooms? Post by rick on Jun 21st, 2002, 9:52pm JC, Here's another link for you: http://www.erowid.org/plants/mushrooms/mushrooms_medical1.shtml If you are in Milwaukee, WI, I am in Chicago, IL, and I'd be interested in participating or volunteering as a test subject. The problem with using me as a guinea pig would be that I seem to be coming out of my cycle, and may see another 2 1/2 year remission. I would be willing to provide you with an account of my personal experience. PinkSharkmark and Flash would be able to provide you with the most information on this therapy, and there are many others here who would be willing to help. Just let us know. Thank You, Rick |
