Title: Gabitrol ?
Post by winchita on Jun 20th, 2002, 1:41am
Just found you guys - what a trip!  I always assumed I had migraines but reading this makes me wonder.  Definitely one sided, around eye, ganglion knot in back of neck.  Could it be do you all think?  I have been using Zomig everyday this month - love/hate relationship.  Have tried Depakote and Topamax.  Doctor friend just gave me samples of Gabitrol which is an anti-seizure med that supposedly doesn't make you gain or lose weight, puts you in a deep sleep, and doesn't leave you groggy in AM.  This is day 5 and notice nothing yet.  Obviously no "deep sleep" or I wouldn't be her at 2:00am, huh?  Any thoughts?  Anyone else heard of it or notice side effects?  Does it ever work?  Thanks a lot!

Hi winchita!

Have not heard of the gabitrol myself, but I read from others on this board that they have been helped by other anti-siezure meds.  My hubby used nuerontin, also an anti-siezure, for several years and it allowed him to skip a couple of cycles and made a couple of others shorter and less intense.  He did not gain/loose weight on it and was not groggy in the am, but he definitely experienced insomnia and anxiety side affects.  Finally got off it this year because the side affects were getting worse and he wanted to try the shroom therapy, which worked!!  Cycle ended almost immediately!!  It's been great!

Hope the gabitrol is still working for you and that you are still PAINFREE!

K

Winchita,

Gabitrol is one drug I've never heard of.  Have you done some research on the net?  The only anti-seizure drug I've tried is Depakote, which I had no success with.  I took myself off of it before I began my shroom therapy.

Peace,

-Rick
